At Alternatives Pregnancy Center in Sacramento, we offer FREE limited Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. The testing is done by a simple urine test. Many are confused about the difference between a Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) and a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI). Not all STI's will lead to a disease and many are treatable with a prescription.
If you would like to schedule an appointment to be tested for a Sexually Transmitted Infection, here are a few things you need to know prior to scheduling:
Do not have sexual intercourse 48 hours prior to your appointment.
- Do not have sexual intercourse 48 hours prior to your appointment.
- Do not douche 48 hours prior to your appointment.
- Do not use a tampon 48 hours before your appointment.
- Please come to your appointment with a full bladder.

Chlamydia - a treatable sexually transmitted bacterial infection that can affect both men and women. However, if left untreated in women, Chlamydia can effect pregnancy.
